The Express has Ended!

This is a Sponsored post written by me on behalf of Walgreens for SocialSpark. All opinions are 100% mine.

What express? The Express Script.  Walgreens and Express Script  program will not negotiate the contract with Walgreens.  Why is this so alarming?  I think you will have a better understanding when I explain The Express Scripts program.  The Express Script program is a program is a company that operates as a health care system middleman.  Essentially, ES (Express Script) connects  the healthcare system with pharmaceutical providers for consumers to purchase their prescriptions.  Walgreens was included in ES network, until their contractual agreement came to an end December 2011.  Walgreens tried to negotiate a new contract with ES.  However, ES had too many stipulations.  What does this mean for consumer?  This means that consumers like you and I have to find other participating pharmacies (that are not so convenient) to get medicine.

In an effort to make lemonade from lemons, Walgreens is offering special discounts on annual membership for its' Walgreens Prescription Savings Club! It is only $10 a year!  A family membership covers everyone in your immediate family, like your spouse, dependents 22 and younger and pets.  Individuals may join for $5!  If you join, you can receive special discounts all year long!
